A Choice of Agonies

The happiest agonizer you will ever see
Greetings Gentlereaders,

Today we're talking about one of the most hated and most variable models I've played with so far, the Agonizer.  Skorne generally focuses on buffing their own models rather than debuffing their enemies, but this model is one major exception.  At the cost of draining fury off your warlock, you can make your opponents' warbeasts unstable or pillow-fisted, or render your opponents' warjacks impotent.  One of the more interesting things is how the rules quietly reflect the lore of the Skorne empire.  So if you want the freedom to run your beasts a bit hotter than usual and frustrate your opponents, it's time to read more.  And I do mean more.  I'm sorry it took a while to get to you, but this article is packed with information.

Reflecting

Hey guys, Corvus here. I'm a little misty as I write this, but I'm really torn up right now. My regulars will know that at this point, I've been gaming for about the last 16-18 years, starting with Magic, and progressing through Pokemon and YuGiOh, getting into minis first with the likes of WizKids' Mage Knight line. This brought me through MechWarrior, Arcane Legion, and Monsterpocalypse, until I picked up 40k in college to help me adjust to new people and a new place. Over those years, I've watched the sun set on one miniatures game after another. And here I find myself, watching Games Workshop, and it feels like 2008 all over again, and in more ways than one.

Heresy in the Library - Deathfire

Greetings good people and welcome back! Trooper here with another installment of "Heresy in the Library", where I review Black Library publications and let you, the reader at the other end of the data-slate, know how it is! Up for review is the new Horus Heresy novel, Deathfire, by Nick Kyme. The Salamanders get another novel and we get to see more doom and gloom from the paltry few dudes in Green. Were you hoping for some major plot advancement in the series? Perhaps some cool military action and bolter porn? What about...aw hell, you're not going to find anything like that here. Vulkan lives, but he doesn't do it well.

RoBPod #26: Campaign Event

Just a week ago, Godfrey, Havoc, UltimateDave and myself all got the opportunity to attend a campaign style event, hosted by Battle Mallet Games in Martinsville. For most of us, this was the first big, organized 40k event we had been to since college events at Game Preserve Bloomington. We all ha d alot of thoughts and feelings about the event, and decided to talk about how the game plays in practice rather than in theory for a change.
